So far this October we've had some good sunny days, reminding us of the summer we could have had! The highlight at Dungeness has been the pair of Cranes which have now been present for 2 months. The garden has seen the first Siskins and Redwings flyover and many common garden birds spending more time at the feeders. We're really pleased at the number of Goldfinches (up to 8) and Nuthatches that are present at the moment. This last week saw a Buzzard soaring high overhead -still an uncommon site here. There are still plenty of House Martins and Swallows passing over in small flocks.
